Instructions:
Gourds are shipped by:
· UPS
in the 48 states and Canada
· USPS
in the 48 states, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and APO addresses
Shipping & Handling charges are based upon
the Zone (distance from Missouri), plus the billable weight, which
is size of the box.

Please note that
UPS
has minimum charges for the
Medium
and Large
size boxes, even if the box is shipped empty. The cheapest cost per gourd is to
fill the Large
box.
· For
Canadian customers, the Large
box by UPS seems to be the cheapest way.
·
For Alaska and Hawaii, the
Medium
box by
USPS
is the only economical carrier, and shipments by Parcel Post is cheaper if you
can wait 3-4 weeks for delivery.
Shipping/Handling charges
for Zones 2 - 7 averages:
(Closest distance from Missouri is Zone 2.
East coast is Zone 5. West coast is Zone 7).
Small box - $10-15
Medium box - $15-24
Large box - $19-38
If you live
within a reasonable driving distance from Missouri, the savings on shipping charges can easily
pay the travel expenses by coming directly to the gourd farm.
Payment Terms:
· We
do not accept advance payment by mail orders since the shipment usually leaves a
balance due from the customer or a credit balance owed to the customer.
Ordering Instructions:
It helps us fill your order if we know
generally what you intend to do with the gourd such as painting, wood burning,
carving, cutting tops off, musical instrument. Also, please let us know if you
are primarily concerned only about the shape of either the
top
or bottom
half of the gourd.
The
“As
Is”
and
“Washed”
prices apply only to the
basic types
of gourds as shown on the
Expanded Gourd Chart.
An example would be
Kettle types, Bushel,
Chinese Bottle types, etc.
Shipment Policy:
It is our policy not
to ship obviously flawed or inferior gourds, such as holes or cracks. But
until gourds are washed, these types of flaws may not be clearly visible
and can be overlooked in packing. Occasionally we receive an order
requiring that the gourd(s) be perfect and without any surface blemishes,
flat spots, off center, etc. Because our gourds are grown on the ground
in natural conditions,
it is difficult to find ones like these. Therefore, we do not take orders
which require perfect gourds.
Special Charges:
· If
specific numbers from the
Expanded Gourd Chart
are required, a
$1.00 Specific Shape Charge per
gourd will apply. The extra charge applies because of the labor involved
in looking through thousands of gourds for a specific shape.
· Some
gourds do not retain their stems. For orders requiring
attached stems: add
$1.00
per gourd.
· Washed
Gourds Returned: only the "As
Is" price will be refunded.
